To be an Eden Village resident you must meet all three of the following requirements:

Chronically Homeless

Meet the governments definition of chronically homeless. Homeless for the last 12-months consecutively or have four periods of homelessness over the last three years within the city limits of your Eden Village community.

Disability

Have severe and persistent mental or physical disabilities prohibiting you to live independently for long periods of time. Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD and other Axis 1 diagnosis are common in our residents.

Recurring Income

Ability to pay $400/month for rent which includes utilities, laundry and activities within the community center. If you anticipate this to be a hardship, do not apply. Income can come from employment, sponsorship, disability, etc.

Eden Village of Arizona is seeking homes in various cities throughout the state, starting with the east valley in Phoenix.

What to Know…

  • Eden Village homes are built for a single resident. Living and providing for oneself will aid in personal growth, without the responsibility of others. BUT our communities are built for relationship building with other residents that is part of the healing process.
  • You must be a good neighbor. Our residents must respect one another, the staff and volunteers and be an active part in keeping the community a safe and positive place to live.
  • Our community will be gated with a fingerprint keypad ensuring that residents are safe and that guests must be approved and checked in. We no longer want our residents to live in fear and survival, this is an important part in that process.
  • We will have laundry services, a community garden, computers, a community center, and front porches promoting companionship. Eden Villages are a healthy and supportive living environment.

A home is a basic necessity, essential to a humans’ well-being and only once this need is met, is it possible to address other needs. The key to recovery is building relationships with the community. This could not be accomplished without the help of volunteers and service providers who partner with Eden Village to foster community and invest in the lives of our residents. For these individuals this is a long process which will require continued dedication by the community.
